Cambridge

Neighborhoods: Harvard Square, Kendall Square, Porter Square, East Cambridge, Inman Square, Central Square.

Why visit: Check out Harvard and MIT, walk along Memorial Drive or around Fresh Pond. Stop for a bite to eat pretty much anywhere, and enjoy live musicians and street performers in Harvard Square.

Why Live: A city unto itself with everything any city has to offer. Red Line access gets you easily to Boston. A mix of urban and suburban, large houses and large brick buildings. City feel and city access but with quieter, tree-lined streets off of Mass Ave. Red Line access and an extremely bike-friendly commuter system win from a commuting perspective. Kendall Square, MIT, and Harvard draw throngs of employees every day, so if you are one of them, Cambridge is a very convenient place to be. Plus, its less expensive than downtown neighborhoods but still feels like it offers many of the same amenities.
